It's Official! Dover Family School Alliance is a Non-profit Organization
December 2015

The Board of Directors is thrilled to announce that the Dover Family School Alliance has been approved as a nonprofit organization with both the Internal Revenue Service and the State of New Hampshire. Although this does not materially change the work that we do here in Dover, it does mean that now have formal structures in place and that we are able to solicit donations and grants.

Additionally, DFSA has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Dover School District, which was approved by the Dover School Board on November 9, 2015. The MOU is in place to ensure continuity between the Dover Schools and DFSA in our work to support effective family-school relationships that benefit all of Dover's children.

DFSA is the newest member of the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce. We look forward to a mutually-beneficial relationship and opportunities to extend our reach to new audiences throughout Dover.

"Carolyn Abell Hodges has been named by the Parent Information Center as a Champion of Parent Involvement in Education"

We are beyond thrilled to announce that Carolyn Abell Hodges has been named by the Parent Information Center as a Champion of Parent Involvement in Education. This statewide honor is in recognition of her work to build and maintain the DFSA web site, the DFSA monthly newsletter and this Facebook group. This work has been instrumental in helping DFSA meet its mission and reach more parents/educators.

Carolyn, parent of Sam (7th grade, DMS), is also a photographer and graphic designer. She created the DFSA logo and designs all of the organization’s other brand materials. In short, she makes us look great! Carolyn will be honored by the Parent Information Center and Governor Maggie Hassan’s office on October 1st in a ceremony in Concord.
